IMA Engineering is taking part in the ITERAMS project which is developing solutions to improve efficiency and profitability in mining. The project’s aim is to improve the recycling of water, the valorisation of tailing and the minimisation of the environmental footprint in mines.
Our objective is to make blasting and loading more accurate which would reduce waste rock dilution and ore losses, thus also reducing energy and chemicals consumption. Our innovative methods are focusing on a more accurate separation of acidic and neutral side rock in order to eliminate acidic leaks into the environment.
ITERAMS will conduct research in order to reach 100% water circulation in minerals concentrator. The project’s aim is also to prevent possible harmful substances from getting into the groundwater and the environment by developing geopolymer materials to cover tailings areas and mine side rock piles at mine closure.
For the midterm review, ITERAMS met between 12th and 14th February 2019 in Levi, Boliden Kevitsa Mine and Anglo American Sakatti.
IMA Engineering works in cutting edge sustainable research projects and offers new proven solutions to improve mining profitability and efficiency.
Thanks to Boliden Kevitsa Mine and special thanks to Outi, Bianca and Benjamin and to all those who made this event possible.
