Mines and Technology Helsinki 2018
We had a great time last month at Mines and Technology Helsinki. We participated together with Mining Finland. The keynotes and discussions were very interesting and rewarding. We are looking forward to next years' show.
Industrial analysis of mill feed - economic value flux
IMA Engineering attended the SME Annual Conference & Expo 2018 earlier this year. During the conference, IMA together with Outotec Finland gave a keynote on the latest developments in bulk ore sorting. Get the keynote from the event.
Mine Digi-transformation seminar and workshop
On March 13 2018, IMA presented at the Mine Digi-transformation workshop in Vuokatti, Finlnad. The envent was organised by Mining Finland and Kainuun Etu.
OredVR transforms ore deposits in a highly visualized format
While using their in house developed ore and mineral analysis technology, IMA Engineering and Mine On-Line Service (MOLS ) have noticed that ore's are more complex and heterogenous than what is commonly observed when using conventional sampling and analysis technology. In order to increase understanding of ore heterogeneity the IMA & MOLS has decided to join the OredVR project
IMA in Zambia
IMA visited Zambia together with Mining Finland between 12 and 16 of February 2018. We learned a lot about the local mining industry and about the economic potential that the Zambian mining industry has to offer.
#ITERAMS
IMA was pleased to participate at the general meeting of the ITERAMS project held at Hotel Front Maritim, between and 30.11 amd 1.12.2017 in Barcelona, Spain.
We had very productive and interesting meetings. We also enjoyed meeting and talking to all attendees as usual. Thanks everybody!

ITERAMS -project - reinventing the role of water and waste in mining
Ima Engineering is taking part in the EU-funded project ITERAMS, "Integrated Mineral Technologies for More Sustainable Raw Material Supply".
IMA started ITERAMS in July in Boliden Kevitsa mine.
Sample collection for ITERAMS WP1 (Sample collection for other tasks and work packages) has started in co-operation between Boliden Kevitsa, Ima Engineering, Leoben University and Oulu University. The team planned and executed the kick-off meeting and the first sampling campaign in Kevitsa Mine. The team studied Kevitsa Mine orebody mineralogy, potential locations of suitable geo-polymer locations and then collected the first set of samples from blast benches and tailings area. Samples were then splitted and transported to Oulu.
Core Scanning technology and automated data acquisition, for geologists
IMA partner Mine On-Line Service (MOLS) company is analyzing drill cores with it’s Scanmobile lab at the Geological Survey of Finland’s (GTK) national drill core storage. The Scanmobile houses IMA scanning XRF analyzer for elemental analysis of cores in their boxes. The analysis data is combined with core digital images and rock quality (RQD index) from the core images. The result, a digitized core storage is delivered via MOLS Remolog™ remote logging browser near real time to the end users of the data.
