FCA Delivery to Zambia

Designed for demanding mining environments. Ready for operation.

A new IMA Fast Conveyor Analyzer (FCA), which has been completed at our production facility in Finland and is now on its way to a mining operation in Zambia.

The system will provide continuous, real-time copper analysis of bulk materials directly on the conveyor belt, helping the operation gain greater visibility into ore grade and make faster, more informed decisions. By understanding ore variability as material moves through the process, mining teams can improve ore control, stabilize plant feed, and optimize downstream operations.

Designed for demanding mining environments, the IMA FCA is a cross-belt analyser that utilizes high count-rate XRF technology to continuously monitor ore quality. The system continuously monitors ore quality, delivering rapid and accurate measurements for grade control, ore management and optimisation purposes.

For more than 30 years, IMA analyzers have been deployed in base metal mines, precious metal operations, iron ore mines, and quarries, helping customers improve ore control and optimize production processes.

What this delivers in the mine

  • Real-Time Ore Grade Monitoring

The FCA provides continuous visibility into ore quality, enabling operators to identify grade variations and respond to changing ore conditions as material moves through the process.

  • Improved Feed Consistency

By continuously monitoring material on the conveyor, mining operations can maintain a more stable ore grade to the plant, supporting improved downstream performance.

  • Better Operational Decisions

Real-time ore information enables mines to make more informed decisions about ore routing, grade control, and material management while minimizing the processing of material below the cut-off grade.

  • Rapid Return on Investment

Accurate and timely ore grade information helps operations identify opportunities to improve feed grade, reduce waste, optimize production decisions, and enhance overall process performance.

The system has been assembled and fully tested at IMA Engineering's production facility prior to dispatch.

Manufacturing follows our ISO 9001:2000 quality system, ensuring every delivery meets the high standards required by mining operations around the world.

What is IMA Engineering?

IMA Engineering has used on-line sensors for analyzing ore and waste rock in mining for over 30 years. Today IMA on-line sensors are used in various stages of the mining process including on-line analysis of drill cores, drill chips, ore, and waste in loader buckets, ROM ore analysis on conveyor belts and in bulk ore sorting, as well as in slurry analysis in concentrators.
